Let's gently move into June…
In mere weeks, the summer will officially begin and another series of seasonal changes will be upon us. While they may be different from what we could or couldn't enjoy last year, they will still indeed be changes. And as with all changes, there are a full palette of thoughts, feelings, emotions and challenges that can arise.
Some changes are definitely more supportive of our process than others are. We know this. And yet—these can be the changes that we initially don't want to practice at all: boundaries around getting our needs met, adjusting our daily routines, taking steps to support our well-being, saying no or yes to what serves us and so on.
So what to do? What if when we're addressing the very initial steps of change we remember this mantra:
"Sometimes you've got to learn to love what's good for you."
Think about it. Rarely does love—meaningful love—happen in a flash. It's a process and all that implies. While the initial connection can happen in what feels like a flash, the nurturing of that emotion takes time and is full of steps forward / backward /sideways / up and down. So when we're making a change in our lives, wouldn't that pattern hold?
Do you know how to fall in love with "What's Good For You" (2:37)?
