Are we really moving towards the end of April? How have you found it to be?—"the cruelest month"? or has it offered the lovely promises of spring? Either way, the practice continues and as the challenges arise, we have the choice to meet them—or not.
So often when we're face to face with those challenges, we load them with upsetting thoughts: they're "overwhelming, draining, not at all what we've asked for or deserve" and so on. However, when we're willing to unload them and approach them in a different light, they become far less daunting and unwieldy.
To that end, let's consider this quote from Wendell Berry:
"The impeded stream is the one that sings."
This is a great reminder that what we tend to perceive as obstructions and impediments are really just the notes of the melody to our own unique symphony. What do you hear in your "Impeded Stream" (2:40)?
