Hello—
…moving right along to the end of 2020—not "there" yet, though…
As we're naturally winding down this year and resetting for the new one, I thought it would be good time to offer other ways to consider the practice of listening with your Bodymind—especially if the term "Bodymind" doesn't speak to you.
Recently, when working with a client, I asked her specifically "How do you know you've accessed your deep wisdom and all its resources?" She thought about it for a moment and then replied "Calm Certitude" (2:43) (YouTube Link) or (Facebook Link).
What a wonderfully elegant and accurate phrase. Our Bodyminds just know. There isn't a lot of flurry of activity, wasted energy or second guessing. When we truly listen, what we hear is lean, clear and absolute. That's when we know we're in tune with our innate knowing.
Another way to listen with the Bodymind is when we "Keep in Mind and Take to Heart" (2:41) all the resources that we've culled over the years. It's about being focused and present with what we're feeling within—what our deep knowing feels like / what our sensations know. Then we can literally
access full-bodied wisdom.
And if you prefer the primer, "Chattermind vs. Bodmind" (3:13) is the "cheat sheet" that brings the practice down to this: our Chattermind = the storm / our Bodymind = the quiet within the storm, so we can listen to the whispers and then act on what we're hearing.
What is your relationship to your Bodymind? Do you listen with it? or to your Chattermind? Do you trust this Internal GPS—knowing that when we follow it, we cannot get lost on our path? How does all this speak to you? Sit with it and see where it leads…
