Hello—
Here's a question for you. Do you have a sense of ownership when it comes to your life? Ownership: "The act, state or right of possessing something".
When we truly own our decisions, choices and actions, there's no need for a "second opinion" from another source. Is there? We're not up in our Chatterminds or looking for approval from someone who "knows better" than we do. There isn't that whiff of self-doubt, that sensation of "less than" or the need to please expectations—be they ours or someone else's.
This doesn't just refer to the upside of our lives. It cuts across both the ups and downs. It rings true when we're flailing; when we've not met a challenge as deftly as we'd hoped; and when we've made a choice that ultimately we have to remake again.
Regardless of how things are going in our lives, ownership allows us to keep carving out our path forward, taking responsibility, and remaining true to our values. When we have the foundation of ownership, we have access to being self-possessed: "calm, confident and composed"—regardless of what we're grappling with. How do you practice "Ownership" ? (2:37) (Facebook or YouTube).
This concept is another aspect of internal vs. external structure. It not only enhances but also builds on your innate Comfort Level (1:54) and strengthens your ability to be Your Self (2:23).
How are you with this idea of ownership? Is it a quality of ease for you? or discomfort? Is it something you'd like to cultivate? or have you done that already?
