Hello—
and welcome to autumn / spring and the new year for some of us.
Let's begin the season by wandering back to our childhood and see what teachings there might be for us in Fairy Tales.
While they were just stories as we were growing up, when we choose to revisit them as adults, there can be so many riches for us to mine.
Once upon a time—there was a reframe:
For instance, let's reconsider "Cinderella" (3:31)—What if the story isn't as bleak as we always thought it was? and we choose to see her "plight" in a very different way?—one where she's not only true to Her Self but also resilient enough to be with what is. (Facebook or YouTube).
And while we're trafficking in make believe, let's reconsider a few other stories and see how they might relate to our current lives:
"Goldilocks" (1:56)—Say what you will about her obvious boundary issues, she is very clear on what works for her and what doesn't. She knows how to Listen with her Bodymind.
"Mirror, Mirror" (2:28)—Remember how the mirror told the brutal truth to the Evil Queen in Snow White? When we're willing to look in our own mirrors, they can speak volumes to us as well.
"The Emperor's Clothes" (4:17)—And when we are among those who choose to stay silent, can we dare to speak up and share our truth?
Not just storybook tales now, are they? What spark inspires You? Do you know what feels right and what doesn't? Are you willing to look at Your Self and see what needs attention? And how vocal can you be when it matters? Weigh in with your take and comment.
"…so much gifted guidance."
Just scroll through the playlists and click on a video that speaks to you. Then watch, learn, and take its teachings right back into your life.
