Hello—
Welcome to the last weekend in October…
I thought it might be an excellent time to reconsider an aspect of travel—no, not the kind that many of us aren't doing this year—the metaphorical kind.
Let’s riff on the famous phrase “All roads lead to Rome.” When we consider a goal of ours to be “Rome”—be it short term or long term, there are all kinds of options that open up for us in our process, aren’t there? There’s not just “one” way to move forward and achieve a goal, is there?
When we choose to open up all those possibilities, it can make for a less daunting, more interesting and even smoother journey. Think about it. The more options we have, the more ways there are to travel to and arrive in "Rome" (2:45). (Facebook or YouTube).
Once we open up the itinerary, there is also room for much deeper learning, evolution and healing. Resistance (2:06) becomes just a pause to gather more information vs. something we have to break through—more of an ally than a foe.
And when we travel on the path that truly speaks to us and serves us, the way forward is no longer bound by the phrase "failure is not an option". Add the letter L to the word fail and by all means, "Flail Away" (2:40).
How does all this land with you? Do you routinenly just take one path forward? Can you change directions if that path isn't leading you where you need to be? Can you double back, pause, thrash around and still make your way forward? If not, what does that tell you?
