Hello—
and welcome to July! It doesn't really feel like a "usual" July, does it?
At this point, the months and days may feel like they're blending all together. Our current practice is probably hitting very challenging moments—moments that are pretty tangled as we continue to navigate these uncharted waters.
Knowing how to reap the benefits of those uncomfortable moments can be a great short cut and deep dive into unwinding patterns that no longer serve us and are actually standing in our way. Make no mistake, there is no magic that rids us of these uncomfortable challenges. And yet, when we're willing to ride that edge—the place between shying away from and falling into the pit
of difficulty, it can make all the difference in our practice. "Un/Comfortable" (3:11) (YouTube Link or Facebook Link)
And how can we further support Our Selves on this edge? These two pieces from the SwaffWords© Archives are great reminders when that edge feels a bit too daunting:
"Simple vs. Easy" (2:35)—Learning the difference between these two words can soften those times when we feel stymied and think that we're not moving "quickly enough" through our
challenges.
"Out /Through" (2:38)—Just keep at it. At a certain point, turning around and backtracking actually takes more energy than going forward.
"…steady sources of wisdom in a rapid two minutes."
