Hello—
And so the first glimpses of venturing back out begin. They're a chance to build something quite different from what we left just a handful of weeks ago.
And yet, with all the changes, stutter starts and new beginnings we're navigating, it can seem that we need to create new practices almost daily. However, as we move more deeply through this, I'm realizing that there is no need to reinvent the wheel over and over.
The more we're willing to draw on the basics of our practice— the through line of consistency—the more adaptable, supportive and accessible it is. In fact, when we tap into the underlying purpose, it acts as our internal GPS and steers us where and how we need to be. Whether we're weathering upheaval or motoring along in our routine, it's the "Same Practice" (2:57). (YouTube Link or Facebook Link)
And when we hit those inevitable speed bumps, disappointments, or setbacks, I'm all for deeply diving into those moments that are sometimes called "pity parties". As long as we're steeped "In the Dark" (2:16), let's savor it. That way, we can move through that place of 'woe is me' more quickly and get back to the task(s) at hand. So can you access your practice in any situation? and what's your takeaway from your time spent 'in the dark'?
Comment on either or both pieces and share your thoughts with us.
