Hello—
…and welcome.
This week I thought I'd consider the concepts of being known—or not— and how that can play out in our lives.
We've all had those moments—almost like a cosmic slap—when we realize that someone hasn't an idea of who we are. Those moments can be particularly stinging when it involves someone close to us who clearly is clueless.
Now, flip this scenario—how often do we make snap judgments about someone else—based on a preset list of preferences: "do's and don'ts" / likes and dislikes / the things we have in common—or not?
Like so much of our practice, it all comes down to staying present and truly listening to what is unfolding in a moment.
"Not Known" (2:31)—Let’s dive into those tangled situations when we don’t feel we’re being seen, heard, or honored. There’s something deeper going on here that can indicate the true quality of a relationship, and where we really stand in it. (YouTube Link or Facebook
Link).
"Other" (2:33)—What if we consider the energy of extremes and what drives us to them?—politically, socially, spiritually? How does an underlying decision perpetuate these extremes? (YouTube Link or Facebook Link).
How do you respond when you're not truly known? And how often do you come across the practice of an "other"? Feel free to share your thoughts with us and comment on either video.
And after you've screened these replays, check out a few of my other SwaffWords© on the art of Listening with your Bodymind—
"Your messages allow me to move forward with grace."
All SwaffWords© videos (often called quick "mini sessions", lasting three minutes or less ) can be found either on my YouTube Channel or in my Facebook Video Library. Scroll through the playlists and when you find a topic that speaks to you, just click on it. Then watch, learn, and practice the teachings by taking them back into your life.
Do you know someone who needs to receive these weekly SwaffWords© directly to their inbox? If so, they can subscribe here.
And if you'd like to know a bit more about my style and how I offer this work, we can connect in a few other ways:
In my Facebook community, you'll find like-minded people along with daily posts, prompts and reminders for your ongoing practice.
Rapid Bodymind Clarity reflects what my clients refer to as my "straight, no chaser" approach and the immediate impact it can have on your life.
Or let's chat—either through my site or via email.
In the meantime, here's to realizing more clearly who truly knows us ( and who doesn't ), while keeping check on the notion of an "other".
May we all mine our riches so that we may live our blessings.
Here's to your heart's ease…❤️
Thanks much.
Until next time—
Cheers,
Steph
