Welcome to winter…
And so we begin to move back into the light, while at the same time, we're winding down from this year and all that it has offered and taught us—moving forward while moving away at the same time.
It is this very dynamic that can often stall us in our practice. We tend to rush forward without allowing the ending of something to truly complete itself:
"We live our lives forever taking leave."
(Rainer Maira Rilke)
When we can become more comfortable and practice this pattern, the notion of endings and change can be much less daunting as we're moving forward.
Once we own and settle into the fact that leaving is a constant, over and over and over—be it a moment, situation or a person—it no longer seems so overwhelming, nor does it have the same power to disrupt, surprise or unsettle us. How are you at "Taking Leave"? (2:57)
