Hello—
…and welcome to all!
Today is the eve of The Ideas—just shy of exactly the middle of the month. And while The Ides can conjure thoughts of ominous deeds and fraught outcomes (think Julius Caesar), they were also a deadline for settling debts. That's where I'd like to linger for a moment.
Yes, settling financial debts is a clean business and relationship practice. However, I'd like to go beyond that and ask a few questions for you to ponder. What kind of debts are you carrying that have nothing to do with money?—obligations that keep you "in the red"? Are you emotionally indebted to someone? Where in your life are you running a negative balance or scrimping by on "less than"? I'm just planting some
seeds here and I'll be circling back around to them in a few weeks to see what has sprouted.
In the meantime, for this week's recap, I looked at our fearful thoughts around having "nothing" and considered how we might navigate the blues.
"Nothing" (2:45)—Ironically, as fearful thoughts surface of being left with nothing familiar as we're navigating change or upheaval, when we take a closer look, we often find that we're already dealing with what frightened us so in the first place. (YouTube Link or Facebook Link)
"The Blues" (3:25)—What if, when the blues settle in around us, we just see it as a chance to stay in the present and be with that energy—regardless of how uncomfortable it might feel? (YouTube Link or Facebook Link)
