"Taking Care of Our Selves"
Welcome to June. We're about ten days out from days becoming shorter in this part of the world. I've always found it odd that as we're moving into summer, we're losing light. The opposite seems to be more accurate.
While we're settling into this coming change, let's reconsider how we take care of Our Selves and turn to Shakespeare for a reminder and very elegant lesson:
"Our remedies oft in ourselves do lie."
And is it not perfect that it's from the play "All's
Well That Ends Well"?
Everything works out, things arrange themselves in due course, in a phrase, all's well. So what do we need to do to support this concept?
Yes. We seek out guides, those who have more experience than we do, or are well-versed in a certain method or practice. And yet, the ultimate authority of our own health is us. We are the only ones who know what truly speaks to us, feels right, gives us clarity and shows the direction going forward.
And the "kicker" to this is it's not just limited to our health. Deep down, we know the remedy we need in order to choose the career, partner, domicile, response in the moment that will serve us. Just like "Goldilocks". Imagine that...
"Our Remedies" (2:21). How comfortable are you with them?
