"Suffer"
Hello and welcome to mid May!
An update and a bit of "housekeeping" before we begin. SwaffWords® is now trademarked: videos, blogs and musings. You can access these short teachings any number of
ways.
Also, I thought it would be a good time to offer a number of supportive teachings from the archives instead of just one option, after the most recent video. You'll see the possibilities below.
OK. Now let's get to the work. Anyone who knows me knows how much I consider the backstory of someone. Yet, we're not the only ones with backstories. Words have histories too. They also have gone through changes, growth and morphing. And when we're willing to go back and suss out their
original meanings, it can give us a new understanding and context for what we're saying and even feeling.
So with this in mind, lets look at the word 'suffer' and see what it has to teach us. I find it to be a particularly loaded word these days that's
almost thrown around casually.
And yet, the original meaning of the word was to allow, tolerate, undergo, or experience. That sounds a lot like life to me, doesn't it to you?
How do You "Suffer" (2:20) ?
