"Ruined Life?"
Welcome…and here we are on the threshold of the Ides Of May. The pace of the year is starting to pick up, isn't it?
So let's take a closer look—a hard look—at our part in all that we're going through, shall we?
"If you think someone ruined your life, you are right—it's you."
We have Friedrich Nietzsche to thank for this bitter pill to swallow. And yes—sometimes the most powerful and effective medicine for us tastes terrible—though that medicine has proven to heal us again and again.
What is the one thing that all our interactions, the people we come in contact with, the situations we move through, the choices we do or do not make have in common? It is us. We are the one constant, the throughline, the common denominator in every aspect of our lives.
Yes—other people are involved in each of these moments, and they and their choices have an impact too. Clearly, life doesn't happen in a vaccum. And yet…
We are the only ones consistently there—(though admittedly, not
always present)—in every second of every day. As a result, we have a heavy hand in how our lives are unfolding—and whether or not we're fulfilled in them.
What is your take on a "Ruined Life"? (2:25)?
