"Bless Them"
Hello and welcome to a moment of reflection…
You know
those people in your life who consistently upset you? who "drive you crazy"? who disregard you?—those who you may not like at all? Let's tweak the practice so that you can be with them differently and as a result, do another piece of healing.
What I really like about this approach is that
it's a twofer: we get a bit of knowledge which in turn allows us to reframe the moment and meet it with a different sense of caring and compassion—really? for those who we find so very challenging? Yes.
When we speak and exhale we send carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere. Now without
getting into the weeds of science and botany, CO2 is vital for the nourishment and growth of plants. It's a vital part of the photosynthesis process that nurtures and supports them.
How about that?
So—when we're in "those" moments with "those" people, it's a good time to remember that they are actually doing a wonderful service for the flora of the earth. Their words and exhales are feeding the greenery around us.
This then unloads the moment and gives us a chance to soften our hearts around a person or situation. Sounds like a win / win to me.
Can you just "Bless Them" (2:31)?
