"Casting Off"
Let's all begin with a simple breath, or two, or three. Let them be easy, mindful, and at your own pace. No need to rush, count, or hold. Just draw that breath in and then release it when you're ready. Settle into the ease this simple practice offers.
Let Your Self reset, release and shift into the moment…
Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh.
I
thought it might just the right time to offer a bit of wordplay. We haven't done that in a while and I've come across a quote that works on several levels:
"Life is a casting off." (Linda Loman / "Death of a Salesman"). Now the beauty of the action—casting off—is that it means three
distinct things:
it's a knitting term that ties off the end of a piece; a way of tossing something aside that we no longer need or want, and it's also the beginning of an adventure or voyage.
Completion, release and moving forward—the ongoing patterns of our healing process. In one way or another, all three of these aspects coincide with and support one another at the same time. So when we're practicing the art of casting off, we're touching on all parts of what we need to do to change, grow, evolve and heal.
