"Inner Fires"
Welcome to March. We've changed the clocks and we're moving towards the Equinox. In short, we're moving back into the light. So, let's shine that light on a particular aspect of our well-being and see what it teaches us, shall we?
In very broad strokes, we have two inner fires. One is digestive and one is restorative. The digestive one is self-explanatory. The restorative one can seem a bit more subtle—probably because it works when we're resting and sleeping. It's task is cleansing—burning off, if you will, what we no
longer need, not unlike a controlled refuse fire.
When we"feed" our fires accordingly, we support the innate wisdom of each system. When we don't, we're working at cross purposes and hampering each fire's ability to care for us. Makes sense, yes?
And yet, how often do we let Our Selves spill over into one or the other fire and then wonder why we're not motoring along on all cylinders? Think about it.
How many times have we all had a late, heavy meal and then felt dull, off, too full, sluggish the next morning? Yes, the meal was "too too". It was also started too late in the day to take full advantage of the digestive fire. By doing that, we "trespassed" into our restorative fire.
And the result? Neither fire could properly do it's job, so we're left with incomplete fires and "stuff" that hasn't been processed both literally and figuratively. Which brings me to this question:
