Welcome to September and all that this time of year implies—getting back into the daily routine; school; work; upcoming holidays; plans;
obligations—real or imagined. We're already in the throes of this energy, yes?
All the more reason during this time of year to be able to take your own time out whenever and wherever you need it. I can hear it now— "I don't have
the time to make time for My Self." And the hamster wheel is up and running…
So let's just stop. Take a mindful breath or two or three and reset Your Self.
It's more than doable—especially when we take "spoonfuls" of self-care throughout the day. It's like savoring a "Palate Cleanser" between courses, allowing us to complete one moment while we then transition into the next one.
Can so small a "serving"really make a difference? Oh yes. It's another way of calling on our innate abilities to center, calm and restore Our Selves. By tapping
into our senses in particular, and really savoring the moment, we can indeed navigate that moment with more ease and clarity.
The specifics of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch can evoke an immediate calm that not only brings us back to the present but also enhances it—which
in turn—can smooth any rough edges that we're caught on or up against.
