Just getting in under the wire—this is the last Summer SwaffWords© before the season turns to fall tomorrow. Here's to the Equinox and the coming changes. May they be welcome ones…
So let's continue our focus on meditation, by adding to the "Spoonful" we considered last time. Here’s another way to drop into that centering, calming state. It's called site (placement) / sight (seen) meditation. Chances are you already practicing this. Really? Yes, really.
Look around you right now. Is there an item
or collection of items that evoke a calming sense to you? Perhaps it's a photograph—or several; rocks, shells, or feathers that are totems for you; a figurine from your childhood; flowers—dried or fresh; a small reminder from a dear relative or ancestor; or an altar of some kind—you get the idea.
The point is that when we catch sight of this site, it brings up lovely memories and emotions that then wash over us, offering a delicious calm that bridges us back into the present.
